O’Connor Pyne & Co’s energy is generated by its staff commitment and for this reason continues to invest in the recruitment of trainees and the development of its staff.
O’Connor Pyne & Co is an approved ACA, ACCA and AITI training firm. It has been awarded excellence in training by ICAI, and are one of the elite Platinum approved ACCA training firms in Munster. Every 5 years ACCA carry out a detailed on-site assessment of the firm’s training procedures, training and review processes and on the back of this, the Platinum approved status is granted. The firm had its last ACCA review in the summer of 2018.
O’Connor Pyne & Co offers six-month placement contracts to 3th year students seeking a career in Accounting. During this time students are assigned a mentor and gain first-hand experience to working in a busy accountancy practice.
Students are trained in various software packages such Relate, Sage, Big Red Book, Xero and Autorec. Many of these students return to O’Connor Pyne & Co. on a three-and-a-half-year training contract.
There is no requirement for incoming trainee accountants to select a specialist area when they first join O’Connor Pyne & Co. The firm recognises that many trainee accountants will only be experiencing the office work environment for the first time and that it is very difficult to identify at that stage what area of accountancy they would like to work in upon completion of their degree.
